2009 Bike MS Ride, Fall Breakaway
We are excited to announce that in addition to our Mountain Bike Event on September 12th we will be offering a one day road ride!
All roads are paved and the routes are designed to offer something for everyone of all cycling abilities. If you are looking for a flat, easy ride then try our 12 mile route located all within Island Lake Recreation Area. Our 24 mile route will take you into Kensington Metro Park and allow you to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. Looking for something more challenging? Then try out the 45 mile route that will take you out around the GM proving grounds in Milford and up what some riders affectionately refer to as “Mt. Kensington”.
Remember, if you are looking for a mountain bike event we’ll be offering that as well with trails of 5 and 9 miles that you can ride all day between 9am and 3pm.
All routes start and finish at the Dodge Pavilion at Island Lake Recreation Area. Check in opens at 8:30am and the routes open at 9am.
Registration fee for the event is $20 per person and the minimum pledge due by September 30th is $250.

Multiple sclerosis stops people from moving.
We exist to make sure it doesn’t. The National MS Society believes that moving is not just something you can or can’t do, but rather is who you are. This is why we sponsor events like Bike MS - to raise funds for research, as well as comprehensive programs and services for people with MS - moving closer to a world free of MS.
The Michigan Chapter, National MS Society helps people in Michigan address the challenges of living with MS. We are a driving force of MS research, relentlessly pursuing prevention, treatment, and cure. Visit the Michigan Chapter to find out more.

Download Center: In a concerted effort to save money and resources we will be sending Bike MS materials electronically in 2009. You will have access to pledge sheets, receipts, site information, and more. If you do not have access to email and the Internet, or if for another reason you absolutely must receive printed materials, just let us know, and we will be happy to accommodate you.
These materials will all be posted in the Download Center of our Website
If every Bike MS participant received all of their materials electronically, we would be able to dedicate over $4,000 more to providing support and programs to people with MS and their families. |
